N. lutea (Willdenow) Persoon is a species lotus that is native to the Americas. It is a rich yellow with slightly lighter tips. There are onlt two species of (Nelumbo) Lotus. It is a good bloomer.

The other species lotus is the N. nucifera (Gaertner) that is native to the Orient.
